Full Description
A 17th-18th century timber-framed and plastered house with an addition at the west end. Considerably altered on the south side. Partly 2 storeys and partly 1 storey and attics. The north front has small casement windows and the south side has 20th century casements. A 20th century porch projects on the south. Roof thatched, with 2 modern gabled dormers on the south. Graded II listed (S1).
2011: A HAA was carried out in November to accompany an application for Listed Building Consent to convert the garage and cottage into a dwelling. 16th century timber-framed thatched house, likely to have begun as an open hall, with a 17th century parlour block at the east end. An upper floor was inserted in the 17th century. The west end edition was originally pat of the 16th century house, was converted into a kitchen in the 17th century and a garage in the 20th century. The building was sub-divided into cottages in the 19th century when a further cottage was added. The building now used as a garage sits on the site of the older building but fragments of the earlier framing are still visible. The 19th century dwelling has not been modernised and is virtually unaltered (S2).
