Full Description

2015: Evaluation identified a single linear ditch, containing no dating evidence. The direction of the ditch, towards the road and its small size was interpreted as a property boundary and probably medieval in date. A truncated post hole was found adjacent to the ditch. A further feature was a foundation wall for a building; this building is shown on Hodskinson's map 1783. The brick sample from this feature appears to be post-medieval, possible 18th century date (S1).
