Please read our .

Summary

The site of a possible large circular earthwork mound is visible on the 2m LIDAR DTM within the wooded area of Scottshall Coverts. This feature is obscured on the conventional aerial photographs. Whilst it is feasible that this mound, potentially 35m across, relates to a Bronze Age round barrow preserved within the wooded area, further investigation on the ground is required to ascertain its date and archaeological significance, as it is entirely possible that it relates to a natural feature and/or a mound of material.
