Full Description

March 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
An undated possible cropmark enclosure is visible as faint cropmarks on aerial photographs on land to the east of Leiston Road, Aldeburgh. Not only are the cropmarks very faint and ephemeral, they are only visible on one set of photographs (S1), along with many geological and some possibly agricultural marks, and it was therefore difficult to be certain of the nature and extent of the archaeological features. However, several finds of Roman date have been recovered in the vicinity (ADB 014) and therefore it is possible that these features are of Roman date.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 4th March 2015.
