Full Description

July 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
A series of linear boundary banks and ditches, some of which may also have acted as trackways of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on the LIDAR data (S1) within an area of plantation within Rendlesham Forest. These features would need to be checked on the ground, as the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (S2) would suggest that at least some of this area of was arable relatively recently, so the survival of some of these features could be questionable and may indicate that some of them are later in date and relate to the planation. However see EKE 009 and EKE Misc/ MSF19950 for location of Staverton Hall and Church in this general area of Rendlesham Forest.
Other features visible on the LIDAR were not mapped, as it was felt that they related to tracks and boundaries on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (S2).
