Full Description

2004: Medieval seal matrix, hexagonally faceted handle rising through stepped rib mouldings to an openwork quatrefoil below the suspension loop. Diam 26mm, height 29mm, weight 22.89g. Legend "P:GOVLLE:DITBOUChIER". P is the initial of a Christian name such as Paul. Goulle is a Middle English and French surname. Bouchier is either butcher in french or an English surname of Essex origin. Translation could be "P. Goulle known as Butcher".
