Full Description

2015: A detailed magnetometer survey successfully detected anomalies of possibly archaeological interest, the most significant result from three areas which relattes to a sub-oval shaped anomaly possibly representing an early ring ditch - later evaluation was inconclusive. The survey also highlighted known history with regards that are present on the historic OS maps, areas of ferrous response are loaced in these areas so can be related to those buildings (S2).

2016: Undated pit identified during evaluation trenching at Land at Barton Road. It is unlikely that it is related to the large amount of Neolithic pottery and flint work found at the adjacent site (see THS 011). The feature appears to be of a date that was of some antiquity but it is possible that the feature is natural. A large probably rectangular area of modern disturbance was also identified (S1).
