Full Description
June 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
An area of Second World War military training is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) within a clearing in Tunstall Forest. The site consists of clusters of large bomb craters and smaller detonation areas arranged in a grid pattern, like a small-scale minefield, and falls within the Orford Battle Training Area (ORF 137). The site is mostly now levelled.
