Full Description
June 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
The site of a probable Second World War pillbox or similar defensive gun emplacement is visible on aerial photographs (S1) within Tunstall Forest. The exact shape of the structure is hard to distinguish with certainty, but would appear to be a polygonal type 22 pillbox. Aerial photographs from 2013 indicate that it survives as a structure (S2). The site falls within the Orford Battle Training Area (ORF 137).
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 25th June 2015.
