November 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
The possible earthworks of a curvilinear enclosure of uncertain date and significant may be visible on aerial photographs (S1) within Tunstall Forest. However it must be noted that in places it is hard to distinguish the ‘ditch’ from tracks and other linear features within the vegetation. Nothing relating to this feature is visible on other aerial photographs, neither are the ‘earthworks’ visible on the Lidar DTM imagery, which could indicate that it is this ‘enclosure’ is not of archaeological origin and relates to recent activity.
