Full Description

January 1988: Fragment of curvilinear enclosure, only two arms visible, may be field boundary (S1).
Later fieldwalking (F646) uncovered 1 blade (patinated) and 2 pottery flakes (S2).
A curvilinear ditched enclosure and possible field boundaries are visible as cropmarks approximately 700 metres to the north-west of The Steading caravan park, Brightwell parish, centred on circa TM258436. The enclosure is incompletely visible but may be a D-shaped enclosure of later prehistoric date, the straight edge of the 'D' facing to the south-west. A possible ditched track, visible as faint linear cropmarks, and two linear features, possible field boundaries, can also be seen on the southern side of the enclosure. Ring ditch NBN 001 is also visible as cropmark circa 85 metres to the south-east of the enclosure.
