Full Description
Three sides of rectangular enclosure, long side 90m, shorter sides circa 50m. Another length of ditch circa 40m, in the centre and parallel to shorter sides, giving an 'E' shape. (S1) Close to ring ditch and field boundary FLK 008 to the S.
Two possible rectilinear ditched enclosures, centred on TM 28844039, are visible as cropmarks on the aerial photograph mentioned above (S1). The largest enclosure, centred on TM 28844038, is roughly 50m by 50m and appears to have a small roughly square enclosure in its interior, adjoined to its north-east corner. The partial cropmark of another, smaller, rectilinear enclosure, measuring 20m by 13m, is visible to the north of the larger enclosure at TM 28834042. The date and function of these enclosures is unknown. It is important to note that the lack of control to the north of the photograph may mean that the position of the rectified features is not accurate and the poor clarity of the features may mean future photography reveals them to be agricultural in nature. The enclosures are around 140m to east of where they were originally located. (S2)
