Full Description
February 2016. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty National Mapping Programme.
The former earthworks and soilmarks of boundaries and possible former building platforms and/or mounds of probable post medieval date are on visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) adjacent to Alderton Hall (ADT 002). The line of a track or path depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (S3) has been omitted from the mapping. These features are likely to post medieval date and relate to landscape features and/or boundaries associated with Alderton Hall, but it is feasible that some may be contemporary with the earlier medieval moated site.
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 16th February 2016.
