Monument record BAW 189 - Former earthworks of a probable post medieval flood bank and a possible mound

Please read our .

Summary

The slight earthworks of a probable post medieval flood bank and a possible mound are visible on aerial photographs. It is possible the mound relates to a building platform or feasibly a saltern, although it must be noted that the mound looked less convincing on other aerial photographs and may just relate to an island in between natural channels. Although note the nearby site containing mounds of probable medieval to post medieval date (BAW 049).

The former earthworks of a probable post medieval flood bank and a possible mound are visible on aerial photographs (S1). Although note the nearby site containing mounds of probable medieval to post medieval date (BAW 049). Recent photography suggests that the earthworks are now largely levelled.
