Full Description

C16 Manor House on part of priory site, possibly incorporating part of cloister wall (S3). Priory Lodge on site of Priory Gatehouse. " House's main front faces south on to garden. Prominent 3 storey porch also bears Seckford arms and is decorated with pairs of Renaissance Doric pilasters, with pedestals; pilasters diminish at each storey." (precis) (S2).
The SIA visited the Abbey at Woodbridge in October 1860 and described it as follows: "It occupies the site (or very nearly so) of a priory of Augustines which existed there a few centuries ago. The only room examined contained some carved beams, and a finely executed chimney-piece of the time of James I." (S4).
The Abbey "has been altered in most parts, but the three-storeyed porch to the south remains with a date 1564. It is red brick, as is the rest of the building and three storeys in height." (Described in fuller detail in (S5).)
