Full Description
November 2016: Historic building survey was conducted. The survey concentrated on buildings located within the Manor Farm courtyard. The survey identified that the buildings had been constructed in the nineteenth century and laid out in the then fashionable model farm plan. Some building ranges had been demolished and those that remained were altered in the late 19th and 20th centuries. One building was used as a stables for horses, although some original internal features remain, the northern most wall was altered in the early 20th century when the building was altered to accommodate a motor car. The building orginally extended further to the south but was demolished sometime after 1950, it cdould have originally housed a cart or carriage. The second building is used today as a store for household items. Historically, it was constructed as an open fronted cart shed mid-19th century date that was incorporated or built onto the flint and brick wall that extends south. It has 3 bays that have undergone drastic alteration. The third building is a very similar design to the second. The fourth building is 2 storeys and has been divided into three sections. The eastern and western elevations are constructed from flint and brick and woul dhave had open bays facing west. During the late 19th century these were blocked with a wooden framing and boarded externally (S1).
November 2016: Archaeological Evaluation revealed post holes, two phases of a ditch and surfaces relating to former yards and pathways where the farmyard complex was remodelled in the mid 19th century (S2).
