Full Description

Little Horsecroft Barn is a curtilage-listed 19th-century threshing barn located to the south-west of Bury St Edmunds, within the former Horsecroft Estate. The barn forms part of the historic setting of Little Horsecroft Cottage, a Grade II listed farmhouse with 17th-century origins. The barn is understood to have been constructed c.1840, contemporaneous with significant remodelling of the adjacent cottage. The barn is of traditional construction, comprising a timber frame on a brick and flint plinth, with weatherboarding and a hipped slate roof. It retains much of its original form, with minimal alteration since construction, aside from the loss of a later north-east wing (S1)
