Full Description

A single ditch on a northwest-southeast alignment was identified duing an archaeological evaluation. A single sherd of 16th-18th century pottery was collected from the base of a ditch. Medieval pottery was found in a layer of silty clay overlying the ditch as well as concentrations of oyster shell and a fragment of roof tile. These finds are though to relate to the occupation of Hadleigh Manor in the medieval period (S1).
