Full Description

2016: Monitoring of a cable duct installation revealed structural remains including foundations, limited brick work and drainage, to the rear of the Left Battery and two sections of concrete road were encountered in the area to the north east. The main area which has features of interest is the area immediately to the rear and to the north of the Left Battery. These comprised the structural remains of a series of buildings associated with the battery and part of a larger structure that stood adjacent to the roadway to the north of the battery (S1).
