Full Description

Two defined shallow ditch type features identified which contained no dating evidence; though their fill appeared to be 'old' in character. One of the ditches can be identified as the linear feature recorded on aerial photographs. Stray finds from the upcast spoil included 3 sherds of medieval pottery and occasional ceramic and non-ferrous finds of 17th century or later date: 1 very worn and almost illegible copper alloy trade token mid-17th century (diam. 14mm). A copper alloy button, harness strap junction, buckle fragment and furniture fitting fragment. Also found a bent lead cloth sack seal composed of back to back discs with "DAPEST" across one side and "8" on the other (diam 18mm, wt7g) (S1).
