Full Description
No 46 High Street dates from the early 19th century with an early 18th century rear right wing. The house was probably converted into a shop during the 19th century when Saxmundham prospered as a market town with good rail and road communications. It is likely that the outbuilding on the south side of the yard was a former stable and coach house during the 18th century until it was converted into a workshop for the ironmongery business (S1).
