Full Description
Scatter of handmade pottery sherds, concentrated in a natural hollow. A few sherds of Ipswich ware in the same area (S1).
Sax pottery and hearths previously recorded on N side of this area - see BUT 008.
Also Neo, IA and Rom pottery.
May 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
It was not possible to positively identify any of the features described above from the available aerial photographs, however, there is a possibility that archaeological cropmarks are visible witihin the same field on one set of photographs (S3). Since the cropmarks were so indistinct and fragmentary they have not been mapped, however.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 6th May2015.
