Full Description

This sunken featured building, was 40m east of the Fore Street frontage and the same distance from the Foundation Street. Only the west end survived. The pit, 80cm deep and 3.6m wide, survived for 2.5m east-west, with a hearth on its base but no evidence of post holes. The orientation of building and its location imply that it did not relate to either Fore Street or Foundation Street but to an east-west road south of the excavated site, (S1).
