Full Description

A north–south masonry foundation (0189) in Trench 4 represented a late medieval building on the reclaimed land adjacent to the waterfront. The nature and extent of this building are unknown. It might have replaced an earlier building on the same alignment represented by a possible robber trench (0181 etc); this earlier feature was dated to the late 13th- or early 14th century, (S1).
