Full Description

Supposed long barrow on Sutton Common. Scheduled Monument.
Probably a pillow mound. Soil very loose and has circular bank around, circa 70cm high, 3m wide. Probably clapper mound for does to breed (S2). For similar examples see BRD 082, BRD 195/196, MNL 516/517, WNG 042 and SUT 096/097. Within area marked as mixed woodland - Country Park.

The pillow mound described above is visible on aerial photographs (S3)-(S12), as depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1:10,000 map. The circular enclosure around the mound is thought to represent the warren bank.
