Full Description

Trial trench evaluation revealed a hardcore surface of red brick rubble containing three dressed limestone masonry fragments. Two of the fragments may be of Portland Limestone and originate from internal features. One of the fragments has a carved mason mark resembling an arrow. The third piece was a rectangular slab of different limestone with decoration to the front, with faint splashes of black paint within the engraved lines. This may have been part of a façade of a building of 18th century date (S1).
