Full Description

August 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An area of poorly defined, undated earthworks is visible on imagery from a lidar survey flown in 2015 (S1). Some appear to be banks, and correspond to boundaries shown on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S2), while others could relate to post medieval quarrying; they surround a surviving pit, marked as 'Old Gravel Pit' on the same map. Some could be associated with the site of the medieval to post medieval warrener's lodge for Brandon Warren, which is recorded immediately to the east (SHER 093). As the features are poorly defined, they have largely been mapped by extent. See too aerial photographs such as (S3).
