Full Description
October 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An oval-shaped mound or knoll, partially defined by banks and ditches and visible as earthworks on imagery from a recent lidar survey (S1), may represent a former plantation, probably of post medieval date. Its outline is partially reflected in 19th and early 20th century Ordnance Survey mapping of adjacent boundaries and the extent of conifer plantings; see the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch and 2nd edition 25 inch maps (S2-S3). The knoll or mound, which is presumed to be natural in origin, has been mapped only by extent.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 6th October 2017.
