Full Description

2004: Historic Building Recording of Alpheton Hall (See ALP 019) also recorded two adjacent barns, both of which contain timbers of the 13th century or before. The southernmost barn dates mainly from the late-16th century but preserves three 13th century bays at its western end (although its roof is modern). Several principal posts in the 18th century barn towards the church have been re-used from a 13th century building (S1).
