Full Description
A fragment of a timber-framed building on the Debenhams site during part demolition prior to building the store (S1). This consisted of a section of 11 ceiling joists from a ground floor room which had been jettied (S1). The fragment had been incorporated into a 19th century building (S1). The evidence is particularly interesting as it demonstrates the first known example of ogee-moulding in Ipswich, dating between 1500-1540 (S1).
