Full Description

trial trench evaluation identifiedsmall undated ditch features in two trenches. The other nine trenches did not contain any archaeological finds or features. The northeast and east of the site were evidently significantly truncated during the construction of the primary school. The tarmac playground area at the north of the site and the playing field at the southwest had been levelled with a chalky made-ground deposit presumably derived from the terracing activity at the east of the site relating to the construction and landscaping of the former primary school (S1).
