Full Description
2019: An archaeological evaluation by means of trenching revealed two 19th century to modern pits which contained large quantities of ash/cinder deposits and fragments of 19th century brick and undated fragments of peg tile. Early OS maps show the area as undeveloped ladn to the rear of a number of properties fronting St Mary's Street. It is likely that the pits were utilised for domestic waste disposal associated with these properties. (S1)
