Full Description

Ring ditch, circa 27m in diameter (S1 S2).

The cropmark of a possible Bronze Age ring ditch is visible on HE Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken 24th July 2008. This is situated to the north of Hawstead at TL 8631 5955 and is slightly obscured by the modern field boundary to the north. Approximately 320m to the west are a group of four ring ditches, possibly related to this one (S3).

2022: excavation confirmed the presence of the and preservation of the ditch (S4)
