A possible round barrow of Bronze Age date can be seen on aerial photographs as the earthworks and cropmarks of a mound and ring ditch, centred on Levington Heath at circa TM24874041, Levington parish. The mound is circa 14 metres in diameter and the ring ditch approximately 23 metres in diameter. The mound can be seen as both an earthwork and cropmark on aerial photographs of 1944, but by 1987 is visible only as a pale cropmark of irregular shape (S4). It must be assumed that even by 1944 the mound had been damaged by agricultural activity and was somewhat reduced in size. The ring ditch can only be seen on one photograph of 1990, which provides extremely poor control, and is therefore likely to be more inaccurately mapped than the mound (S5). This is one of a number of probable barrows in a small group (see LVT 004, 005, 006, 008 and LVT 034), but a number of similar sites are visible on Levington Heath (S6).
