Full Description

Evaluation trenching revealed a shallow pit and two small ditches of uncertain date. In addition a moderately large group of later 2nd century Romano-British pottery sherds was recovered from the top of the subsoil in another trench, although no archaeological features would be defined in this area and a metal detector search only recovered stray find of later post-medieval date from the site (S1).
Archaeological monitoring identified no archaeological feautures. Romano-British pottery sherds of Mid 2nd to Late 3rd/ Early 4th centuries was recovered from the subsoil (S2).
