Full Description
Stangrove Hall is a farmstead and listed building visibile on the 1st Ed OS map and the tithe map. The listed building information gives it as C17 with late C18, early C19 and C20 additions. The farmstead appears to retain all of its buidlings and layout with some modern additions although the listed buidling information states the farmhouse is no longer a farmhouse. Farmstead layout is a full regular courtyard with an additional range of buildings extending from the north east corner. The farmhouse is set away from the yard. The farmstead is set to the east of a public road.
Recorded as part of the Farmsteads in the Suffolk Countryside Project. This is a purely desk-based study and no site visits were undertaken. These records are not intended to be a definitive assessment of these buildings. Dating reflects their presence at a point in time on historic maps and there is potential for earlier origins to buildings and farmsteads. This project highlights a potential need for a more in depth field study of farmstead to gather more specific age data.
