Full Description

Moat, E of St Mary's church, levelled after excavation of 1967. This was irregular, roughly rectangular with rounded corners. Maximum internal measurements 216 feet N-S and 168 feet E-W. Ditch about 20 feet wide and 6 feet deep (S1).
Remains of a timber aisled hall 80 feet x 35 feet and traces of other structures were found by excavation. Thought to have been the C12 manor house of the manor of Davillers. Later replaced, perhaps by the moat at BRM 001. Details in (S1).
