Monument record ADT 017 - Cropmarks of a ring ditch of probable Bronze Age or later prehistoric to Roman date

Circular ring ditch circa 25m diameter. Traces of small pit-like feature in centre. Two breaks in the circle, one may be the result of agriculture, another suggesting a causewayed entrance (S1).

The cropmarks of this previously recorded ring ditch have been mapped from aerial photographs (S1). It seems most likely that this ring ditch represent the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, although it is also feasible that it represents a roundhouse or agricultural associated with the surrounding field system and other cropmarks recorded under ADT 099.
