Full Description

Bronze Founder's Hoard.
Found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), with a metal detector, Autumn 1979 - Spring 1980. Thought to have been in dredgings from ditch spread on field 3 years previously. Finds scattered over corner of the field, on (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s).
1980: Ditch now overgrown.
Hoard consisted of: 1 socketed gouge, 3 socketed axes with single cordon, 1 socketed axe, almost plain, bits and pieces of axes, tip of spear-head, top of sword blade, knife blade, casting jet and bronze cake.
1993: Another complete socketed axe from this hoard purchased from (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S2).
