2006: As part of a study of Suffolk church chests being undertaken by David Sherlock, several were assessed for dendrochronological potential and a detailed study was carried out on three chests. One core was extracted from the front right stile, and a second from the front centre board. The first yielded a 103-year sequence to the heartwood-sapwood boundary and the second a 76-year sequence, also to the heartwood-sapwood boundary. The two series matched each other very well and the plots suggest that the two boards were derived from the same tree. The series were combined into a 103-year master sequence. This however failed to give consistent acceptable matches with dated reference material and remains undated.
