Full Description

Moat. Large, rectangular, occupied, close to parish boundary. Isolated.

A rectangular homestead moat at Moat Farm. The N,W and most of the E arm survive, still water-filled and about 8.0m average width, forming an ornamental garden feature. There is no trace of the S arm, though a farm pond is possibly on its line. Moat Farm is externally 18/19th c and is not outstanding. Its W wing incorporates some re-used Tudor brick, presumably from an earlier house known to have stood within the moated area.
