Full Description

Moat. Uninhabited. Part only of large trapezoid moat. Mound at N end of NE arm. "Crowfield Hall" on OS - site of, no trace (S1).
1972: Only NE, SE and a fragment of the SW arm of the most survive - circa 10m average width & waterfilled. At N end of NE arm at TM 1385 5758 is an earthern mound overgrown with trees, circa 27m across and 2.5m high. Moat originally partly surrounded Crowfield Hall, now pulled down (S1)(R1). At TM 1375 5760 are the remains of an octagonal brick built dovecote of unknown date (S1).
