Full Description

Church of St Mary's. A half and '3 parts' of a church are recorded in Akenham in the Domesday survey. This could include the church in the parish of Claydon (which has no documented Domesday churches) (S4).
St Mary's consists of a chancel, S chapel, nave, S porch, & SW tower. Norman window in N wall, C13 chancel, C14 nave & tower, C16 S aisle, mid C17 S chapel. Made redundant in 1976 (S1). Further details in (S2)(S3).
