Full Description
`The PROVIDENCE, of and from Sunderland to Rotterdam, struck upon the Newcombe Sand 10th inst. and was deserted by the crew, who landed at Yarmouth. She afterwards floated off, and went on shore on Kirkley Beach, where she is wrecked. Part of the materials saved.' (1)
`Yarmouth, Dec. 15. In a violent gale of wind on Saturday night last, the brig PROVIDENCE of Sunderland, laden with coals for Schiedam, went upon a shoal off Lowestoft, and afterwards got off, and was driven ashore on Kirkly [sic] Beach, and went to pieces. Crew saved.' (3)
`On Saturday night, the brig PROVIDENCE, of and from Sunderland, R Kuton, master, bound to Rotterdam, with coals, got upon the same shoal [Newcome Sand] when the crew took to the boat and landed at Lowestoff. The vessel afterwards came off, and went on shore at Kirkley Beach, where she is gone to pieces.' (4)
`The following vessels were wrecked on Saturday night last, at or near Lowestoffe, viz., PROVIDENCE, of and from Sunderland, for Schiedam, with coals, crew saved.' (5)
