Summary

The cropmarks of possible medieval settlements and associated trackway to the west of Depden can be seen on aerial photographs. The trackway is defined by two parallel cropmarks that extend south-west and open out into a possible settlement enclosure. A second possible settlement enclosure is at the northern end of the trackway.

Full Description

The cropmarks of possible medieval settlements and associated trackway can be seen on EH Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken 2010. The trackway is defined by two parallel cropmarks that extend south-west from TL 7721 5729 and opens out into a possible settlement enclosure at TL 7708 5714. This includes cropmarks of possible ponds and the faint trace of a ring-like feature on its northern side. A second possible settlement enclosure is at the northern end of the trackway at TL 7721 5728.
