Full Description

The cropmarks of possible early medieval or medieval farmsteads can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2010. These farmsteads are defined by enclosures which are situated on either side of a trackway (and on the northern side of a T-junction) at TL 7202 5248. They include cropmarks of some internal features including a pond. This trackway is defined by roughly parallel ditches and is a continuation of the trackway to the north-west recorded in NRHE 1587412. A subsequent reorganisation of the land, possibly in the post medieval period resulted in the loss of this settlement and the creation of new straight field boundaries that approximately follow the line of the track.
