Full Description

The cropmark of a possible Bronze Age ring ditch can be seen on aerial photographs close to the top of the hill occupied by Hibbs Green. It measures approximately 25m in diameter and there is a suggestion of two opposing breaks in the ditch dividing the feature into two equal halves; the southern half is defined by a narrow ditch whereas the northern side is seen as a much broader one. Other nearby cropmarks are probably former field boundary ditches and one is depicted on the 1885 Ordnance Survey map, though at its southern end the cropmark deviates from the line shown on the map to cut across the northern half of the ring ditch ending at its centre.
