Full Description

2022: An evaluation was carried out prior to development which revealed no features or finds, however once groundworks commenced fragments of a human skull were found and were reported to the police. The skull was assessed to be likely of medieval date and possibly related to the nearby Chapel of St Mary Magdalene (BUN 005). Two large fragments of cranial vault were present representing most of the frontal bone and the complete occiptal bone with parts of both parientals and temporal, possible male adult. No pathology recorded but noted that skull was rather thick. (S1) (S2).
