Full Description
2023: Two trenches were excavated, both revealing archaeological features including pits and ditches. Medieval activity was represented by two ditches identified in Trench 1. The finds assemblage comprised eighteen pottery sherds of 12th to the 14th century date. The remaining features were undated. None of the three recorded ditches were depicted on later cartographic sources, which suggests that they were redundant by that time. An iron pitchfork recovered from the subsoil was interpreted as modern, probably 20th century date (S1).
