Full Description
HMS Marsa, an auxiliary minesweeper which sank in 1917 after a collision, and a lighter or barge whose date of sinking is unknown. HMS Marsa was a paddle steamer used as a ferry on the Clyde that was converted into a minesweeper during the First World War. The importance of HMS Marsa as heritage asset is high as she was an acting military vessel which sank during the First World War. It is unknown whether there was any loss of life as a result of the sinking (S1).
